Reimann Std follows the model alphabets in Ernst Reimann's 1969 Großer Schrift Atlas, a guide typesetters and sign painters once used for reference. Sascha Bente smoothed out the rough teaching-manual moments and adjusted the proportions so the letters read as a working text face rather than a set of isolated examples.
