MegaMegaTypeType is run by Love & Logic. This page says what we collect, who else sees it and how to get rid of it. We collect as little as the site can work with, and we don’t sell any of it or use it for advertising.

Browsing without an account

You can search the directory and open any typeface without an account, and we don’t ask who you are to do it. We set no advertising or tracking cookies.

We do count visits, using Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights. These record the page visited, roughly where in the world the request came from, the type of device and how quickly pages loaded. They set no cookies, they don’t follow you between sites and they don’t build a profile of you, so there is nothing here to consent to or opt out of. We use it to see which typefaces people look at and to find pages that load too slowly.

Our hosting provider, Vercel, keeps standard server logs of requests, including IP addresses, for security and diagnostics. We also pass your IP address to Upstash, which counts requests so that one visitor can’t overwhelm the search or the contact forms.

Some links to foundries are affiliate links, marked as such. They carry our referral code in the address, so the foundry knows the visit came from us. When you follow one, the foundry’s own site sets a cookie to credit us if you buy within its tracking period (30 days for Fontfabric). That cookie belongs to the foundry and is covered by its privacy policy, not ours. We set no cookie and learn nothing about you or what you buy, only the commission the foundry reports.

If you have an account

Accounts are handled by Clerk. They hold your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your name and profile picture from that account. We never see or store your password.

What you save on the site is stored in our own database, hosted by Neon in London: the typefaces you like, the folders you make and what you put in them, each against your account ID.

The beta waitlist

While the beta is invite-only, joining the waitlist stores your email address and anything you write in the optional note. We use it to send your invitation and to get in touch about the beta itself. Ask us and we’ll take you off the list.

We email you a confirmation link first, through Resend, and you are not on the list until you click it. The link works for seven days and can only be used once. If nobody confirms an address we delete the entry after seven days, note and all, so a mistyped address doesn’t sit here indefinitely.

The form has a separate, optional tick box for a monthly email of new font releases, plus news such as when the site opens up. It feeds the same list as the new releases email below, we record when you ticked it, and you can unsubscribe from any of those emails or just email us. Leave it unticked and you still get your invitation, which is not affected either way. Only confirmed addresses go on that list. We don’t pass your address to anyone.

The new releases email

You can sign up for the monthly email of new font releases on its own, without an account. We store your email address, when you signed up and when you confirmed it. As with the waitlist, we email you a confirmation link through Resend first, and you get nothing more until you press the button on that page. If nobody confirms an address we delete it after seven days.

Every email has an unsubscribe link, and Resend handles it. We record the date you left so you don’t get another. We don’t use your address for anything else or pass it to anyone.

Forms and brief mode

The takedown and submit-a-foundry forms email us what you write, through Resend. If you give an address so we can reply, we keep it in that email thread.

Font brief sends what you type to Voyage AI, which turns it into a search, and to Anthropic, which picks the typefaces. We don’t store your brief, only a count of the searches you’ve used and your credit balance. Don’t put anything confidential in it.

If you buy credits, Stripe takes the payment on its own page. We never see your card details. We keep a record of the purchase: the pack, the amount, the date and Stripe’s reference for it.

If you add MegaMegaTypeType to Claude, ChatGPT or another AI app as a connector, the app sends your requests to us after you sign in. We search them the same way, through Voyage AI, and don’t store them. Likes and drawers you ask it to save are stored like any others. What you type in the app is covered by its provider’s terms with you (Anthropic, OpenAI and so on), not ours.

Who processes your data

• Vercel — hosting, server logs and anonymous visit counts

• Voyage AI — turning a font brief into a search
• Anthropic — font brief suggestions

Some of these are outside the UK, so your data may be transferred abroad under their standard data protection terms.

How long we keep it

Account data stays until you delete your account. Waitlist entries stay until the beta ends or you ask us to remove yours, and unconfirmed ones go after seven days. Sign-ups for the new releases email stay until you ask us to delete yours, and unconfirmed ones go after seven days. Records of credit purchases are kept for six years, as UK tax rules require. Emails from the forms stay in our inbox. Server and rate-limiting logs turn over on our providers’ own schedules, within days.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email angela@loveandlogic.co.uk and we’ll sort it. You can delete your account yourself from your account menu, which removes your saved typefaces and folders.

If you think we’ve handled your data badly you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

The index is drawn from foundries’ own public catalogues. If you’re a foundry and want your work removed, tell us and we’ll take it down.

Changes

If this page changes we’ll update the date at the top. Carrying on using the site means you’re happy with the current version.
