Ghost Display is the headline optical cut of Sharp Type's Ghost superfamily, a humanist sans drawing references from Roman inscriptional letters, Edward Johnston's 1916 typeface and Hermann Zapf's Optima. Available in six weights with roman and italic styles, it belongs to a 72-style family spanning Display, Text and Mono subfamilies, all connected through a variable designspace with continuous optical size and mono axes. Developed over four years by a four-person team, it is designed for equal composure at editorial scale, brand identity and screen use.

Low-to-medium contrast humanist sans-serif with open apertures and warm terminals. References Roman inscriptional lettering, Edward Johnston's 1916 typeface and Hermann Zapf's Optima. Variable font with an optical size axis spanning display to text and a mono axis producing SemiMono and full Mono variants. Display optical cut of the 72-style Ghost superfamily; originally released 2022 as Ghost, revised and extended in 2026 as Ghost Display with a sixth weight added.
