About
Ghost Text is the small-scale counterpart to Ghost Display, retaining the humanist warmth and idiosyncrasy of the broader Ghost Superfamily while optimising optical settings for legibility at text sizes. Designed by My-Lan Thuong, it spans three subfamilies along a mono axis – proportional, semi-monospaced, and monospaced – making it an unusually unified system for products that need editorial and code environments to share a typeface. All three subfamilies are available as a variable font, with five weights and italics, integrated into a single designspace alongside Ghost Display.
Classification
Humanist sans-serif tuned for text and UI settings. Draws on Roman inscriptional lettering and early 20th-century grotesks (particularly Franklin Gothic's subtle stroke modulation). Part of the Ghost Superfamily alongside Ghost Display; shares the same underlying DNA but with optical adjustments for small-scale legibility and screen use. Spans a mono axis across three subfamilies: proportional (Ghost Text), semi-monospaced (Ghost Text SemiMono), and monospaced (Ghost Text Mono). Available as a variable font integrating optical size and mono axes in a single designspace.
