A neogrotesque variable font evolved from HashiCorp's bespoke corporate typeface, softening rigid digital forms with calligraphic details and natural terminal angles.
About
Azimuth grew out of HashiCorp Sans, a custom typeface developed by XYZ Type for the technology company, and has been reworked for general release. It borrows proportions and rhythm from historical neogrotesque models whilst introducing warmer, less mechanical details: terminals follow curvature rather than a grid, the lowercase g is binocular and the capital R carries a gently bent leg. Released under an early-access model at version 0.1, it is offered as a variable font with a one-time perpetual licence.
Classification
Evolved from a custom corporate typeface, Azimuth draws on historical neogrotesque rhythm and proportion while introducing humanist details such as angled curved terminals, a binocular g and a curved R leg, placing it at the intersection of neogrotesque and humanist sans traditions.
