Cisco Sans
Carrois Type Design · Ralph du Carrois, Botjo Nikoltchev · 2009

A bespoke corporate sans designed for Cisco between 2009 and 2011, spanning six weights in normal and condensed widths with obliques and full Latin, Greek and Cyrillic coverage across 120+ languages.
About
Developed in collaboration with Edenspiekermann under the creative direction of Ralph du Carrois and Erik Spiekermann, the typeface prioritises legibility and stability across both software and hardware communication contexts. Six weights in each of two widths are accompanied by obliques rather than true italics, and all cuts extend to Greek and Cyrillic scripts. The project aimed to give Cisco typographic independence and legal clarity across all media and scales.
Classification
A corporate humanist sans designed for clarity and legibility across digital and print applications, with both normal and condensed widths and oblique companions rather than true italics.
