A four-family oldstyle serif collection by David Jonathan Ross and Jovana Jocić, rooted in De Vinne (1892) and extended across Latin and Cyrillic with display condensed, deck narrow, text and variable cuts.
About
Roslindale's character comes from the friction between its sharp serifs and full, round forms, a quality Jocić carries expertly into her Cyrillic extension, from the spikes of д to the curled ball terminals of й. The collection spans four optical sizes, all available as variable fonts with weight and slant axes, and includes Bulgarian and Serbian alternates alongside a full suite of OpenType features. Its refinement of De Vinne's oldstyle quirks through slicker 1970s-influenced spacing gives it a distinctive period tension absent from more neutral revivals.
Classification
Built on the model of De Vinne (1892), a quirky oldstyle serif, with 1970s refinements applied to its spacing and curves. The characteristic tension between sharp serifs and bulbous round shapes places it firmly in the oldstyle tradition, with optical sizes spanning variable, display condensed, deck narrow and text cuts.
