Designed by Deiverson Ribeiro and Maria Fontenelle at Dalton Maag, Tyburn offers nine weights from Hairline to Black across four optical sizes, from Caption to Headline. A vertical proportions axis shifts between Classic and Modern letterforms, yielding 16 named static styles plus a full variable implementation with up to four axes. True italics, swash alternates, oldstyle numerals and rare ligatures round out an extensive feature set.
Classification
A Garamond-archetype revival with old-style serif structure and humanist pen-derived axis of stress, placing it firmly in the Garalde tradition. The variable height axis distinguishing Classic and Modern proportions is an unusual structural feature for this subcategory.
