Henry is Matthieu Cortat's revival of a specific and under-referenced source: Parmentier's early 20th-century Garamond engravings for Deberny & Peignot, calibrated for medium text sizes rather than the cloth-paper conditions of the 16th century. The result is a narrow, elegant Garalde with Art Nouveau inflections – an angled z, winding a and J, a looped Q, and an italic with changing rhythm and playful ligatures – that distinguish it from more conventional Garamond interpretations. Two styles with an extensive OpenType feature set make it well-suited to careful book and editorial setting.
