Paabo
Radim Pesko · Radim Peško · 2001

A geometric sans-serif with thirteen stylistic variants built on circular construction, from clean functional weights to wilfully eccentric display cuts, with Latin, Greek and Cyrillic support.
About
Paabo's geometry takes a ball-game premise seriously: circular forms dominate, with occasional deliberate disruptions the designer describes as non-Euclidean. The thirteen styles run from workable text weights (Regular, Bold) through optical experiments (Round, Soap, Outline) to outright display oddities like Goggles, Pinball and Quadrat. Latin, Greek and Cyrillic support make it more broadly deployable than its playful exterior suggests.
Classification
Strictly geometric construction based on circular forms, with deliberate non-Euclidean disruptions built into the design logic. Thirteen stylistic variants span functional text weights through highly decorative display cuts. Sits within the mid-century geometric tradition but with a contemporary, idiosyncratic sensibility that sets it apart from purely rationalist designs.
