A four-style Cyrillic display typeface drawing on Russian letterforms from the 15th to 18th centuries, with period-specific details such as a diagonal stem on Н and a centred tail on щ.
About
Designed by Oleg Karpinsky for ParaType between 2002 and 2004, Rossika revives specific quirks of antique Russian typography rather than producing a generic period pastiche. Distinctive letterform details – including several Latin and Cyrillic ligatures – are carried through two weights with italics. The family is intended for headlines, logos, posters, calendars, diplomas and certificates rather than continuous text.
