A decorative display face originating from late 1970s artwork by Armenian type designer Henrik Mnatsakanyan, digitised and extended for ParaType in 2003 by Manvel Shmavonyan.
About
The design draws on Mnatsakanyan's only Latin and Cyrillic artwork, with the digital version filling in missing characters. Fractured letterform elements give the face an informal, slightly playful character suited to poster and decorative use. The name Henman is a portmanteau of the two designers' first names: HENrik and MANvel.
Classification
A display face with fractured, informal letterforms that give it a decorative and slightly rough quality. The broken elements place it firmly in the display/decorative category rather than any conventional text genre.
