A dual-script old style serif drawing on Scottish and Indian foundry traditions from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, unifying Latin and Devanagari into a coherent contemporary family across eight weights.
About
The Latin script takes its cues from Miller & Richard's Old Style and Antique No. 7, while the Devanagari references cuts from the Jawaji Dadaji Type Foundry used by the Nirnayasagar Press in Bombay. Both scripts are reinterpreted with precision so they function together as a unified system, though each remains faithful to its own construction. Latin styles include italics across all eight weights; Devanagari is provided in upright styles only. Variable fonts are available for both scripts.
Classification
Tiffin draws on late 19th and early 20th century modern old style sources — Miller & Richard's Old Style and Antique No. 7 from Edinburgh for the Latin, and Jawaji Dadaji Type Foundry cuts for the Devanagari — placing it firmly in the old style serif tradition with a contemporary reinterpretation.
