A revival of hand-cut vinyl lettering made by Brussels autodidact Chrystel Crickx between 1975 and 2000, reissued in 2024 with post-binary glyphs rotated at 90° and 180° within the all-capitals character set.
About
Originally sold at Crickx's shop Publi Fluor for signage and advertising use, the letterforms were first vectorised by Hammerfonts in 2002 and published by Speculoos/Open Source Publishing in 2011. The 2024 edition, produced by the Groupe de recherche Crickx and released under the Collective Conditions for Re-use (CC4r), inserts post-binary glyphs into the existing uppercase structure at unconventional angles, disrupting conventional stroke endings with a deliberately playful quality. The typeface's history is documented in the book 'Publi Fluor. Affaires de lettre à Bruxelles', published by Surface utiles in April 2024.
