A text-optimised Bodoni revival drawn from Giambattista Bodoni's Manuale Tipografico, with reduced stroke contrast to suit extended Cyrillic and Latin typesetting.
About
Elena Novoselova based the design on the 9–12-point letters from Bodoni's Manuale Tipografico, deliberately lowering contrast compared to existing Cyrillic Bodoni interpretations to make the face workable at text sizes. The result is compact, even-setting type with minuscule figures, a well-considered italic rhythm and several distinctive individual characters. The family covers an unusually broad range of Cyrillic-based scripts alongside standard European Latin.
Classification
A Bodoni revival in the Didone tradition, characterised by a strictly vertical stroke axis, high contrast between thick stems and thin horizontals, and long unbracketed serifs. Drawn specifically for text sizes with reduced contrast relative to existing Cyrillic Bodoni versions.
