A geometric sans inspired by a Soviet-era luggage label, built around near-equal character widths and a distinctive notch detail where strokes meet.
About
Kursk 105 takes its cues from the block lettering of a Russian luggage label, translating the compressed, square geometry of Constructivist design into a full Latin character set. Shallow ascenders and descenders keep uppercase and lowercase optically similar in weight, preserving the monolithic quality of the source material. The defining feature is a sizeable notch at stroke junctions, which maintains legibility at smaller sizes while reinforcing the font's mechanical, uncompromising character.
Classification
A geometric display sans with Constructivist influences, characterised by near-equal character widths, a square modular structure and pronounced notches where curved or angled strokes meet horizontal and vertical strokes.
