Part of the Sharp Grotesk Global superfamily, this Hangul extension applies Sharp Grotesk's systematic weight-and-width logic to Korean type, covering six weights (Thin through Bold) and multiple widths via the family's numeric designator system. The design was a collaboration between type director Lucas Sharp and Hangul designer Minjoo Ham – Sharp Type's first multi-script release. It is sold and specified alongside the Latin, Pan Euro, and Thai members of the Sharp Grotesk superfamily for cross-script typographic consistency.
Classification
Hangul extension of Sharp Grotesk, Sharp Type's flagship neo-grotesque. Carries the same systematic weight-and-width approach as the Latin original into the Korean script. Part of the Sharp Grotesk Global superfamily alongside Greek, Cyrillic, and Thai companions. No italic styles — italic is not a convention in Hangul typography. Width variants follow Sharp Grotesk's numeric designator system (20 = most condensed through to 200 = wide).
