Sharp Earth specimen from Sharp Type

Sharp Type's most ambitious release, Sharp Earth is a multi-script sans serif superfamily spanning Latin, Cyrillic, Greek, Arabic, Devanagari, Thai and Japanese, drawn by Lucas Sharp with a team of local script experts.

About

Sharp Earth covers nearly every Latin-script language alongside Greek, Cyrillic, Arabic, Devanagari, Thai and Japanese, offered in six weights with italics and variable axes across seven distinct sub-families. It refuses a single sans serif sub-genre, drawing from geometric, grotesque and humanist traditions to produce something warm, practical and usable across cultures. A companion Sharp Earth Mono extends the family into technical and code-focused applications.

Classification

Contemporary sans serif that deliberately resists a single sub-genre; the foundry describes it as drawing on warmth, pragmatism and utility across geometric, grotesque and humanist traditions. Variable font with weight and slant axes. Extensive OpenType feature set including small caps, old-style figures and twelve stylistic sets (ss01–ss12).
