About
Raum is the display counterpart to Hauss, sharing its weight range and proportions while taking the inktrap concept in a distinctly psychedelic direction. Conceived by Justin Sloane in 2018 as an unrealised custom project and redrawn with Huw Williams to align with Hauss, it draws from Paul Nicholson's 1991 Aphex Twin logo, the Arnold Böcklin typeface, and Leo Maggs's Westminster. The family ships with Böcklin alternates that lean into the Art Nouveau flavour, and italic cuts use a steep 12-degree angle with a rotated rather than oblique construction.
