About
Counter takes the inktrap – a notch originally cut into letterforms to compensate for ink spread – and pushes it to breaking point, splitting the characters open at stress areas. The variable axis moves between Normal (intact) and Inktrap (fractured), giving it a distinctive split-personality effect. With only 30 lowercase glyphs it is strictly a display tool, best suited to single-word logos, titles and motion design.

Variable display typeface built around an extreme inktrap concept. The design uses a single variable axis toggling between intact letterforms (Normal) and letterforms broken at inktrap stress points (Inktrap). Lowercase-only, 30 glyphs. No serifs; the broken forms give an almost deconstructed sans-serif appearance.
