Dx Kord Variable
Dirty Line Studio · Hendra Maulia, Aulia Rahman · 2025

A two-axis variable display sans running from ultra-compressed to ultra-extended widths with an inktrap toggle, across Fine, Normal and Inktrap subfamilies in 18 static cuts plus a variable file.
About
Dx Kord pairs a width axis spanning Ultra Compressed to Ultra Extended with a second axis that shifts between clean geometric forms and an inktrap version with notched corners. The three subfamilies – Fine, Normal and Inktrap – each cover six width positions, giving solid range for headlines and identity work without file-switching. OpenType support for discretionary ligatures, stylistic alternates and two stylistic sets rounds out the character-level flexibility.
Classification
Geometric display sans-serif with two variable axes: Width (Ultra Compressed to Ultra Extended) and Inktrap (toggles between clean and notched-corner inktrap forms). Three subfamilies – Fine, Normal, Inktrap – each span six width positions across static cuts. Inktrap is deployed as a stylistic axis rather than a production necessity, giving a sharp, angular character at display sizes.
