A tall, tightly compressed high-contrast serif by Ellmer Stefan, one of the six Pyte Legacy display faces revived from Pyte's 2016 free font every Monday project.
About
Epitome stacks thick verticals and hairline serifs into narrow, upright capitals that pack long lines into a small width, like the compressed romans on 19th-century playbills. It is a single style with an alternate R, an alternate ampersand and a slashed zero. Part of Pyte Legacy, the overhauled pick of the 2016 weekly fonts, which won Visuelt Gold in 2017 and made Typographica's Typefaces of 2016.
Classification
A tightly compressed, high-contrast serif with hairline serifs and vertical stress, after the elongated fat-face romans of 19th-century posters.
