Heavy flared capitals with hairline diagonals and sharp wedge ends, by Ellmer Stefan, from the Pyte Legacy set born in Pyte's 2016 free font every Monday project.
About
Vulture pairs fat, flaring stems with razor-thin diagonals, so letters such as A, M and N lurch between weights and the S curls like a hook. The result is spiky and theatrical, good for titles, packaging and anything with a gothic or carnival air. A single style with a slashed zero, part of Pyte Legacy, the overhauled pick of the 2016 weekly fonts that won Visuelt Gold in 2017 and made Typographica's Typefaces of 2016.
Classification
Heavy capitals with flaring, wedge-ended stems and hairline diagonals, so strokes switch abruptly between bold and thin. A 19th-century display idea with an angular, slightly sinister edge.
