A condensed Cyrillic display face drawn by Alexander Tarbeev in 1995, derived from Vladimir Yefimov's PT Compact, with a rough decorative variant added the following year.
About
Designed at ParaType in 1995, Star takes PT Compact (1991) as its starting point and refines it into a two-style family suited to advertising and display use. The Rough variant, added in 1996, introduces a ragged, informal texture that contrasts with the cleaner Regular cut. Both styles share a condensed proportion and informal character.
Classification
A condensed display typeface derived from PT Compact, with an informal, rough decorative variant added in 1996. Its ragged, informal character and advertising-oriented design place it firmly in the decorative display category.
