An all-caps condensed display slab designed by Alexey Chekulaev at Double Alex Font Studio between 1993 and 1996, based on DryGulch by Casady & Green.
About
Italiansky derives from DryGulch (Casady & Green, 1990), reworked into five stylistic variants across the mid-1990s. The letterforms are heavy and condensed, with prominent uniform slab serifs suited to poster and magazine headline use. Available in five styles, it is an all-caps face with a pronounced vintage character.
Classification
The specimen shows heavy, condensed uppercase letters with prominent uniform slab serifs and minimal stroke contrast, characteristic of a display slab. The all-caps setting and bold bracketed serifs place it firmly in the decorative slab tradition.
