slabAmerican slab serif
AF Murtau specimen from abbr projects

A slab serif revival drawing on the American tradition, offered in three subfamilies – Slab, Sans and Flair – with upward strokes, soft edges and a set of alternates for letters such as M, R and W.

About

AF Murtau takes its cues from the golden age of American slab serifs, retaining the characteristic weight and stance of the style while introducing softer edges and upward stroke details. The family splits across three variants: a core Slab, a Sans companion, and a Flair cut with additional decorative character. Alternate glyphs for several letters, including a curly R and alternate M and W, extend the typographic range.

Classification

A slab serif in the American tradition, characterised by sturdy bracketed serifs, upward strokes and soft edges. The family includes three subfamilies: Slab (the core), Sans and Flair, the last adding decorative detail to the base design.
