A two-style display typeface by Yury Gulitov, built from letterforms created by tearing white paper from a black sheet coated with PVA adhesive.
About
Each glyph was formed by painting PVA adhesive onto black paper, pressing a white sheet on top, then tearing it away – leaving ragged paper scraps as the letterforms. The Negative style reverses the process, showing the hypothetical result of tearing a black sheet from white. The pair is intended for poster and advertising use, with the two styles deployable together or separately.
Classification
An expressive display typeface created through a physical tearing technique, producing ragged, irregular letterforms suited exclusively to display and poster use. Its two styles – Positive and Negative – are inversions of each other, reinforcing its decorative character.
