A Bitstream adaptation of Monotype Rockwell extended with a Cyrillic character set developed at ParaType in 1999 by Manvel Shmavonyan and Isay Slutsker.
About
Based on Rockwell (1934), the design features monolinear stroke weight and square slab serifs that distinguish 20th-century geometric Egyptians from their 19th-century predecessors. Angular terminals add a degree of liveliness to an otherwise sturdy, constructivist structure. Six styles across four weights with italics make it suited to headline and poster work as well as short text blocks in both Latin and Cyrillic.
Classification
A geometric slab serif with monolinear strokes and strong square serifs, following the Rockwell tradition. The uniform stroke weight and angular terminals place it firmly in the 20th-century geometric Egyptian style.
