slabEgyptian slab
Adamant specimen from ParaType

A single-weight heavy Egyptian slab designed by Alexey Chekulaev in 1993, derived from Colin Brignall's Aachen Bold of 1969.

About

Designed at Double Alex Font Studio, Adamant takes the dense, high-impact proportions of Aachen Bold as its starting point. The specimen confirms the expected traits: very heavy strokes, low contrast and solid slab serifs suited to poster and screen headline use. Only a Regular weight is available.

Classification

The specimen shows a heavy Egyptian-style slab serif with pronounced thick strokes, minimal contrast and sturdy bracketed serifs – characteristic of the Aachen Bold lineage from which this face derives.
