A single-weight, lowercase-only display face built by subtracting the shapes of TM Miniature Italic from FreeSet Bold, producing amorphous letterforms that simultaneously suggest internal and external form.
About
Boris Popov developed Duetto through a process of subtraction and deconstruction, using two typefaces of differing weights and styles as raw material. The resulting letterforms resist easy reading, sitting somewhere between legibility and abstraction. Only lowercase glyphs are included, reinforcing the face's identity as a specialist poster and experimental tool rather than a workhorse text face.
Classification
A single-weight, lowercase-only display face created through a subtractive process between two existing typefaces. Its amorphous, deconstructed letterforms place it firmly in the experimental display category.
