MegaMegaTypeType
An intentionally illegible display typeface drawn from the handset ELSE (2009), built around a 'Conservatively Absurd' design philosophy that rejects conventional type rules.
About
Originally drawn as the handset typeface ELSE in 2009, YWFT Que positions itself as a deliberate counter to clean, neutral sans-serifs, with letterforms that depart from standard construction and kerning that follows no systematic logic. The result is a typeface suited to poster work, motion graphics and contexts where visual disruption takes precedence over readability. Its extreme idiosyncrasy limits its range but makes it memorable in the right hands.
Classification
Described explicitly as a display font with an 'anti-Helvetica' design philosophy, featuring intentionally unconventional letterforms and erratic kerning that prioritise visual impact over legibility.
