Ravi
NoonFont · Reza Bakhtiarifard · 2023

A Persian and Arabic sans-serif with eight weights and a variable font, developed over several years and awarded first place at the Silver Cypress International Farsi Typeface Design Exhibition in 2013.
About
Designed with legibility as its primary concern, Ravi features short ascenders, large counters and low stroke contrast, making it suited to body text in print and on screen as well as UI applications. The typeface supports an extensive range of Arabic-script languages including Urdu, Kurdish, Pashto and Uyghur, with stylistic sets providing Rial, Toman, Saudi Riyal and Dirham currency symbols. Latin coverage is provided via the Kanit open-source typeface.
Classification
A low-contrast Arabic/Persian sans-serif designed primarily for legibility in body text and UI contexts, with short ascenders, small bowls and large counters typical of humanist sans design adapted for Nastaliq-adjacent script traditions.
