A classical Arabic Naskh typeface by Karim Ameri, expanded in 2025 to ten weights with a variable font axis and dual stylistic registers spanning ornate traditional and reduced modern forms.

About

Originally released as a single Bold weight in 2024, winning recognition at the 70th Type Directors Club competition, the family was substantially redesigned in 2025 with nine additional weights and a three-master variable font structure built on Thin, Regular and Fat axes. Two dot styles and a Simplified Forms stylistic set allow designers to toggle between a faithful Naskh rendering and a more restrained contemporary appearance within a single file. Latin characters are drawn from a modified version of Aleo, and OpenType features include tabular numerals, Persian numeral conversion and custom currency symbols for Toman, Rial, Saudi Riyal and UAE Dirham.

Classification

A contemporary Arabic Naskh typeface rooted in classical calligraphic tradition, with Latin support provided by a modified version of Aleo. Its proportions and letterform details are derived from traditional Naskh conventions, with stylistic sets allowing a shift between ornate classical and simplified modern expressions.
