Bon
NoonFont · Javad Jalilian · 2025

A ten-weight Arabic and Persian sans-serif designed for legibility and adaptability across UI, print and editorial contexts.
About
Designed by Javad Jalilian and released in April 2025, Bon covers Persian and Arabic scripts in ten weights from Hairline to Black, including a variable font option. Its name draws from the Persian word for 'root' or 'foundation', reflecting an intention to serve as a neutral, content-first tool rather than a decorative face. Ornamental details are deliberately avoided in favour of balance and readability across digital and print environments.
Classification
A legibility-focused sans-serif with balanced stroke contrast and clean letterforms, designed for Arabic and Persian scripts alongside text and UI contexts. Its understated, functional character places it firmly in the humanist sans tradition adapted for Perso-Arabic typography.
