A squared-off mid-century sans that runs from tight to very wide, after eastern European lettering of the 1950s.
About
Tatras takes its cue from mid-century lettering in Hungary, Poland, Czechia, Slovakia and the Balkans, with rational construction and soft retro-futuristic curves. Version 0.2 rebuilt it from the skeleton up and added a width axis, so it stretches from compact headlines to broad, cinematic settings. Its shaded companion, Tatras Shaded, is sold separately.
Classification
Sold as an in-progress release on Future Fonts (v0.2, May 2026). Version 0.2 rebuilt the original skeletons as a heavy, squared-off geometric sans with a width axis; seven styles from narrow to wide. Version 0.1 offered A and B alternates in five weights. More weights and a variable font are planned.
