Lazydogs Typefoundry · Roland Stieger

An eight-weight humanist sans built from Roman inscriptional capitals and a late humanist minuscule.
About
Roland Stieger's first full type design took Jost Hochuli's 1980 woodcuts of Roman monumental capitals as its starting point, paired with lowercase forms from a late humanist hand. The result reads as a contemporary classic rather than a geometric sans, with alternate a and g forms and a full European character set across eight weights and italics.
Classification
Rooted in Jost Hochuli's woodcut capitals after Roman monumental inscriptions, with minuscules from a late humanist hand, giving it a humanist structure rather than a geometric one.
