BT Atlas
Bleifrei Type · Matthieu Dillier · 2026

A variable humanist sans from Swiss designer Matthieu Dillier, spanning seven weights with italics and a generous set of stylistic alternates for text and headline use alike.
About
BT Atlas balances angular and rounded letterforms with a high x-height and minimal stroke contrast, giving it legibility at small sizes and presence at large ones. A variable weight axis covers the full range from Thin to Black, with matching italics throughout. Stylistic sets include single-storey 'a', alternate 'd', 'l' and 'u' forms, oldstyle figures and tabular figures, allowing the typeface to shift register from neutral to characterful.
Classification
A contemporary humanist sans-serif with high x-height, low stroke contrast and closed apertures, balancing angular and rounded forms across a range extending from text to display use. Alternate characters including single-storey 'a' and 'd' give it flexibility between grotesque and humanist conventions.
