D Sert specimen from Latinotype

A 47-style display superfamily drawn from Chilean constructivist poster design of the 1970s, offering two structurally distinct versions and supplementary extras.

About

Based on the Pirata typeface and inspired by the propaganda artwork of Chile's La Unidad Popular coalition, D Sert blends political graphic heritage with the handmade movement. The family splits into two subfamilies: the main version features bowls that project above cap height for a more calligraphic feel, while the Alt version keeps bowls within the cap height for a tidier appearance with more regularised diagonals. Three extras sets extend the expressive range further.

Classification

A display typeface rooted in 1970s Chilean constructivist graphic design and political poster art, with calligraphic and handmade qualities that place it firmly in the display category rather than a conventional text classification.
