Arquitecta
Latinotype · Daniel Hernández · 2014

A geometric sans with humanist proportions from Chilean foundry Latinotype, offered in eight weights with matching italics and old-style figures for text setting.
About
Arquitecta blends the rational geometry of Bauhaus-influenced design with humanist spacing and a small x-height, making it more amenable to continuous reading than strict geometric contemporaries such as Futura or Avant Garde. Inspired by American and European hand lettering from the first half of the twentieth century, it includes ink traps, old-style numbers, numerators and fractions across 16 styles. The accentuated ascenders and descenders give body text a clear rhythm without sacrificing the geometric character.
Classification
A geometric sans-serif with humanist proportions, drawing on Bauhaus experimentation and early twentieth-century hand lettering. Sits alongside Futura and Kabel in the rational-geometric tradition while accommodating text use through humanist spacing and small x-height with accentuated ascenders and descenders.
