MegaMegaTypeType
A geometric sans in eight weights with a companion UI subfamily whose character widths remain constant across weights, enabling variable font weight changes without reflowing text.
About
Igual pairs a proportionally-spaced standard version for branding and general communication with a UI variant that holds character widths fixed across all eight weights, allowing variable weight adjustments – triggered, for instance, by a device's light sensor – without disrupting interface layouts. Despite the visual logic of monospaced type, Igual UI uses different widths between letters to preserve the legibility of wide characters such as 'm' and 'w'. Both versions share a mechanical, precise aesthetic and cover 208 Latin-script languages.
Classification
Igual presents a mechanical, precise and rational aesthetic typical of geometric sans-serif design, with a monospace-influenced character width system in its UI variant while retaining proportional spacing in the standard version.
