The 1960s brass capitals of Kyiv Metro's first stations, revived as a free roman with Käch-style old-style numerals.
About
Metro Roman reconstructs the monumental capitals cast for the Red Line between 1960 and 1963, a style inherited from the Moscow Ring Line via Leningrad. The workshop invented the missing Latin letters and borrowed numerals from Walter Käch's 1949 Schriften Lettering Ecritures. It later became the base for the retail KTF Roman family.
Classification
A revival of the cast brass 'Antiqua' capitals on Kyiv Metro's Red Line walls: classical uppercase proportions, short serifs, old-style numerals after Walter Käch. Uppercase-led signage face.
