Neumann Normal specimen from Typedepot

A single-weight Didone serif that reinterprets Alessandro Butti's Quirinus (Nebiolo, 1939), developed over three years by Typedepot into a contemporary design with Latin and Cyrillic support.

About

Beginning as an attempted revival of the largely undocumented Quirinus, the project evolved into a reinterpretation after complete source material proved unavailable. Contrast was carefully controlled, proportions adjusted for rhythmic stability and the overall structure simplified for coherence. Latin and Cyrillic scripts were developed in parallel to ensure a consistent voice across both.

Classification

High-contrast, mechanically constructed serif in the Didone tradition, derived from a reinterpretation of Alessandro Butti's Quirinus (Nebiolo, 1939). Vertical stress, strong thick-thin contrast and simplified structure place it firmly in the Didone genre.
