Originating in Choi Jeong-ho's original drawings and the Dong-A Publishing headline type tradition, this revival updates the SM3 견출명조 for modern digital and print composition. ExtraBold directly succeeds the SM3, while Heavy pushes stroke weight further for maximum visual impact. The redesign addresses grey-value consistency, structural uniformity across character series, and introduces a three-tier numeral system alongside expanded punctuation and special characters for vertical and horizontal setting.
Classification
A Korean myeongjo (명조) display typeface in the classical brush-influenced tradition, with high stroke contrast and sharp terminals characteristic of the견출명조 headline genre. The Latin companion draws on humanist serif conventions to harmonise with the Hangul.
