Bodoni Sans
J Foundry · Jason Vandenberg · 2014

A high-contrast sans-serif that adapts Bodoni's classical proportions across three optical sizes, aimed squarely at fashion and editorial use.
About
Bodoni Sans reworks the sharp contrast and elegant geometry of the historic Bodoni serif into a sans-serif form. Jason Vandenberg rebalanced the letterforms rather than simply stripping serifs, and drew an entirely new Light weight to extend the range. Three optical sizes – Standard, Display and Text – each carry adjusted contrast ratios for their intended point-size range, making the family workable from 6pt body copy up to large-format display headings.
Classification
Didone-inspired high-contrast sans-serif. Letterforms adapt Bodoni's classical capital proportions and x-heights for sans-serif use rather than simply removing serifs. Three optical sizes – Standard (12–60pt), Display (48pt+) and Text (6–12pt) – each carry distinct contrast adjustments. No condensed variants. Full italic across Standard and Display; Text carries two uprights and two italics only.
