A five-weight Arabic display typeface by Ahmed Zaza, combining Kufi structure with Naskh influence and high stroke contrast calibrated to sit alongside Latin type.
About
The design draws on Kufi calligraphic forms while absorbing the readability conventions of Naskh, producing wide open counters and abbreviated ascenders and descenders that keep the vertical footprint compact. High contrast between horizontal and vertical strokes is deliberately tuned to harmonise with Latin typefaces in mixed-script settings. OpenType alternates and ligatures extend its usefulness across branding, editorial, packaging and advertising applications.
Classification
A high-contrast Arabic display typeface drawing on Kufi calligraphic structure with Naskh influences. The pronounced contrast between vertical and horizontal strokes, wide open counters and short ascenders/descenders place it firmly in the display category.
