Designed by Julie Soudanne and released in 2018, Baro comprises seven fonts – Plain, LineOne, LineTwo, LineThree, LineFour, Contour and Strip – each built on the same all-caps geometric skeleton but with differing stroke treatments. The fonts are engineered to stack on separate layers in applications such as Adobe Creative Suite, enabling chromatic typesetting by assigning a different colour to each layer. Plain serves as the base, while variants add inline strokes, parallel outlines, bouncing baselines and prismatic effects.
