A modular, mono-linear Gujarati sans-serif in eight weights, with flattened verticals that give text a compact, streamlined appearance.
About
Designed by Parimal Parmar and released in 2018, Akhand Gujarati applies a modular construction to Gujarati letterforms, flattening the verticals of typically round shapes to create a more compact, squarish texture on the page. Optical corrections prevent the underlying geometry from feeling mechanical. Eight weights from Extralight to Black allow strong tonal contrast within a single family, with full support for conjuncts and ligatures throughout.
Classification
