A historically accurate digital revival of Oswald Cooper's full type family, restoring the lighter weights and italic that accompanied Cooper Black but were largely lost to obscurity.
About
Where Cooper Black is ubiquitous, the lighter members of Cooper's original family have gone almost entirely unused in the digital era. This revival draws on sources including the 1923 Barnhart Brothers & Spindler catalogue and the 1934 American Type Founders catalogue to reconstruct the complete range of six weights with matching italics. The lighter weights retain their Art Nouveau character, with inward-bowing strokes and flowing ascenders, while remaining legible at text sizes.
Classification
A revival of Oswald Cooper's early 20th-century type family, characterised by organic, flowing strokes with soft curves and minimal straight lines. The lighter weights carry a distinctly Art Nouveau sensibility while the Black weight is the familiar Cooper Black.
