A free revival of Francesco Griffo's De Aetna roman, released under the Open Font License in four optical sizes.
About
Riccardo Olocco and Michele Patanè drew DeAetna alongside their book Designing Type Revivals, as a worked example of the method it teaches. It follows the roman Griffo cut for Bembo's De Aetna closely but is built to work as a text face for readers now. It comes in a single roman across Caption, Text, Subhead and Display sizes, free to use, study, modify and share under the OFL.
Classification
A revival of the roman Francesco Griffo cut for Aldus Manutius's printing of Pietro Bembo's De Aetna, which puts it in the Venetian humanist serif tradition. Its four optical sizes (Caption, Text, Subhead and Display) are drawn separately rather than scaled.
