Real Estate specimen from Damn Type Co

A rounded display serif inspired by the botanical lettering of Pillard Verneuil's 1903 Étude de la Plante, with softened edges that echo Cooper and Windsor while retaining the source material's idiosyncratic charm.

About

The design centres on a distinctive lowercase 'a' drawn from Verneuil's Art Nouveau plant studies, whose peculiar curves and slight irregularity are preserved throughout. Serifs are rounded rather than sharp, giving the family a warmth reminiscent of Cooper Black and Windsor without fully committing to their heaviness. The result sits somewhere between nostalgic and eccentric, suited to editorial or branding contexts that want personality without overt quirkiness.

Classification

A display serif with rounded, softened edges drawing from Art Nouveau botanical lettering and rounded serif traditions akin to Cooper and Windsor. The organic, slightly irregular curves place it firmly in the decorative serif category.
